Money talks, right? It makes sense to go for the highest paying jobs you can get. When you’re starting out in your career, you’re trying to maximize your upside to justify the workload. It’s not uncommon to job hop a bit until you find a place that pays well and offers decent benefits.

What Really Matters

For most people, the key benefits are health insurance, paid time off (PTO), and WFH flexibility. We all want good insurance for ourselves and our families, the ability to take days off to travel or just recharge, and the chance to work from anywhere. Besides money, these things can make a huge difference in your quality of life.

But let’s not forget about culture — this is another important factor. You want to find a place where you can tolerate the work environment. It’s all about balance. Whether you’re the social butterfly of the office or the kind to work and leave, you should be able to perform free of office politics.
