Friendships Die.
A poem.
In the quiet of forgotten years,
Memories drift like autumn leaves,
Once vibrant connections,
Now faded sepia dreams.
Time’s river flows ever onward,
Carrying us to distant shores,
Yesterday’s laughter,
Echoes softly, until nothing more.
In the space between hello and goodbye,
We dance with ghosts of who we were,
Bittersweet moments of the past,
Linger in the air.
New horizons beckon gently,
As old doors softly close,
The heart holds dear what once was,
While embracing where it goes.
If our paths should cross again,
A nod, a smile, nothing more,
For life has shaped us differently,
We’re not who we were before.
In the space between hello and goodbye,
We dance with ghosts of who we were,
Bittersweet melodies of the past,
Linger in the air.
The journey moves forward,
Yesterday fades from view,
Cherishing shadows of friendship,
As we become someone new.
