You’ve heard about quiet quitting, now it’s time to talk about employer's revenge, also known as quiet firing.

Quiet firing is when your boss slowly pushes you out of your job. They might make work life so miserable that you want to quit. A common reason is they see you as a liability and if they were to abruptly terminate you, it would cause additional issues. In some cases, companies try to avoid paying certain benefits like unemployment insurance. If you voluntarily leave, they’re off the hook.

If you have an uneasy feeling like your days are numbered, it’s time to get your resume ready.

1. You’re being micromanaged

When your boss makes you feel like you’re walking on eggshells, it’s because you are. Work suddenly feels like a game of minesweeper. One wrong move and boom! Fired.

Your managers may become overly critical of your performance. One minute you’re being praised and the next you’re being called out for minor inconveniences.

Having someone constantly criticize your work can be a demotivating factor. If they are quiet firing you, this is what they want to happen.

We as humans can learn a lot from ants. Don’t be nice, be kind.
